IN HER SHADOW

She has gone, but not completely.
She's been gone for quite some time.
But her essence is enduring
in the marrow of your mind.

Yet, I live and breathe this woman.
Yet, I sit and I await
this process of the undoing
of a love I've come to hate.

I can't see her, as I'd like to.
For, she's with me every day.
